Kim Jang-hoon’s USB album in growing demand

The 10th full album of ballad rock singer Kim Jang-hoon, which was released earlier last month, is flying off the shelves.

The newly revealed album of the rocker stands out because it is not just a CD, but referred to as a “USB album” because it also includes a 4GB Kim-shaped USB. The album is apparently selling so well, with high demand from his fans, that production orders have been increased.

This is the artist’s first full album in six years. The 10-track album, titled “Adieu,” includes the title song “Nothing,” which received a lot of attention because the music video not only featured American socialite Paris Hilton, but was also reported to have cost around $1.3 million. The video was also filmed using 3-D effects by top Hollywood specialists, including Look FX, the company that did some of the special effects for James Cameron’s blockbuster “Avatar.”

Representatives from Kim’s agency stated, “Not only do the songs have value and meaning, but including the USB makes the album more practical for modern people.”

The agency also noted that it was Kim’s idea to include the USB. The purpose behind the USB is to allow listeners to be able to load and carry around the music files, along with having extra storage space to store other files.

Kim recently completed his one-man show series named after his 10th album, which began on Dec. 20 and ended on Christmas Day, completing his comeback.

The singer first debuted in the music scene in 1991 with his first album, “Always Between Us.” However, it wasn’t until the release of his fourth album, “Fool,” that his popularity began to rocket. He has performed more than 1,000 concerts and is well known for his friendship with world star Psy.

Aside from being a musician, Kim is also well known for charitable activities. He has been dubbed as the “Donation Angel” for all his donations to charities made in the past decade. In July 2012 Kim received the U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award during a concert that he held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles in July.
