Psy rings in New Year in Times Square

Psy rang in the New Year with style at New York’s iconic Times Square along with old school hip-hop icon MC Hammer. Psy was one of the featured performances at the annual U.S. music festival, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” on Monday.

Psy performed his YouTube record-breaking hit “Gangnam Style” in a feathery white vest while doing his trademark horse-riding dance. MC Hammer later joined him on the stage, where they rocked out a remix of “Gangnam Style” and Hammer’s early ‘90s hit, “Too Legit to Quit.” Hammer was not the only one who joined Psy on the stage ― Korean TV personalities Yoo Jae-suk and Noh Hong-chul, who were featured in the music video, also danced alongside the K-pop star.

The year 2012 is no doubt a year that will go down in the history books for the K-pop phenomenon behind one of the year’s biggest hits. And as if performing in Times Square on New Year’s Eve wasn’t enough of a dream come true for the musician, the night was topped off with yet another celebration for Psy, who turned 35 years old on the day.
