Skipper has contributed majorly to the establishment of APRIA as well as to insurance-related theories and research, having a huge part in globalizing the life insurance sector, Kyobo said.

The 2012 APRIA-Kyobo Life Contribution Award was established last year to recognize those who have dedicated their knowledge and research to the insurance industry and actuarial science.

The award is a follow-up to the “Shin Research Award for Excellence,” which Kyobo and the International Insurance Society had sponsored from 1997, a corporate official said.

The award ceremony, which is part of the 16th APRIA Annual Conference, took place at the 600th Anniversary Hall in Sungkyunkwan University, central Seoul on Tuesday.
