Hyundai Motor to hire Japanese educated Koreans

Hyundai Motor Co. announced on Tuesday that it will host an academic research forum in Tokyo on June 15 as a way to recruit outstanding Korean talent with an education received in Japan.

The country’s leading automaker said that the research forum is organized to boost Hyundai Motor’s global strength. The forum is an exclusive channel to recruit applicants with degrees from Japan, the company said.

“We believe that graduate and doctorate students from Japanese universities have strength in both research on fundamental technology and experience related to math projects,” the company said.

Titled the “First Hyundai Global Top Talent Forum in Japan,” the forum makes “environment-friendly vehicles and core technology for future vehicles” as the main subjects. It is comprised of three parts: environment-friendly vehicles, control system and materials.

The forum is open to Korean applicants with a master or doctorate degree in science and engineering. Applicants who are currently attending graduate school or those with work experience in the field are also eligible.

The company said that it will grant the best presenter at the forum an opportunity for a final interview, in addition to one million yen ($12,500) prize money and an invitation to the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.
