Building a library for Burmese refugees

English books of all kinds are being collected to stock a library for Burmese refugees.

The non-profit organization Book for Dream is collecting both textbooks and works of fiction to fill their third library to serve refugees on the Thailand-Burma border.

Book for Dream says that more than half of the people living in refugee camps there are under 18 years old.

Charity organizers say that the children have a greater chance of being relocated to a safer country if they can speak English.

The Association for Teachers of English Busan Volunteers joined the campaign along with Asia Community School to collect books.

The book drive is running through to Aug. 23 with texts to be delivered to Cafe Radio in Kyungsung, Busan.

Books can also be sent to: Asia Community School Nam-gu, Munhyeon 4-dong, 1003-1, Busan 608-828.
