KB Financial Group chairman Euh Yoon-dae has been invited to the meeting of globally influential chief executives, dubbed G100 Europe.

It will be the first time for a Korean CEO to participate in the meeting of about 100 global senior figures, which will be held in London from March 27-28.

He is scheduled to attend a variety of discussions such as “The role of CEOs during the changing period” and “Changes in the banking sector’s effects on the manufacturing industry.”

The G100 members include Jack Welch, former chairman of General Electric, and A.G. Lafley, former chairman of Procter & Gamble.

The KB Financial chief recently participated in a meeting of the Institute of International Finance as a board member to discuss Asian financial issues.

This meeting of the IIF, the world’s largest industry group of financial institutions, was held in Bangkok from March 13-15.

As a speaker for the third session, Euh delivered a speech on the “changing environments of the financial industry and risk management of financial companies.”

Euh, who has 30 years of experience in global finance, was appointed to the post on the institute’s board of directors last October.

The IIF represents the world’s largest commercial and investment banks and coordinates pending issues in global finance with policymakers.

Euh has exhibited the managerial talent he honed while studying international finance, running Korea University, advising a number of leading companies and, most recently, chairing the presidential committee for national branding.

His footsteps in the financial sector started as a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Korea in 1992.

After his service at the BOK for three years, he assumed board member roles at the Korea Development Bank from 1996 to 1997, and at Korea First Bank between 1998 and 1999.
