Veteran rock-ballad band Buzz will add itself to the string of regrouped veteran music groups, such as g.o.d. and Fly to the Sky, who have recently made major comebacks, with the release of a new single this week.
Buzz, whose original members have united for the first time in eight years, on Monday revealed a teaser music video heralding their return, slated for Friday.
The video shows comic clips of various people who all end up singing a classic Buzz single at a “noraebang,” or karaoke room.

Koreans of various backgrounds and ages, ranging from a woman recovering from a recent breakup, a youth about to enter the military, company workers on an outing, to young lovers are shown singing the band’s signature hit “Thorn.”
At the end of the video appears the words “Anyone was Buzz,” hinting at the widespread popularity the band enjoyed in the mid 2000’s.
Buzz, a South Korean rock band consisting of vocalist Min Kyung-hoon alongside Son Sung-hee, Shin Joon-ki, Yoon Woo-hyun and Kim Ye-jun, debuted in 2003 with its first studio album “Morning of Buzz.”
The group soon became a household name in Korea after a number of widely popular hits including “Leaving on a Journey to Me,” “Monologue,” “Coward” and “Thorn,” all considered noraebang favorites at the time.
A year after releasing its third studio album “Perfect” in 2006, the band indefinitely parted ways to pursue independent paths.
Buzz will release its new single through various online music websites on Aug. 8.
