The quirky and bubbly girl group Crayon Pop, one K-pop’s most unexpected success stories, is finally getting ready, jumping into preparations for the group’s first full album release.
The ladies’ yet-to-be-titled first full-length studio album is dropping more than two years after the group made its debut. It is expected to be unveiled to the public sometime next month, according to an announcement made by Chrome Entertainment on Tuesday.

“Our goal is to make a comeback in September,” said a representative from Chrome. “The members are currently in the process of recording and practicing the new choreography.”
The five members previously released the soundtrack single “Hey Mister” in June as well as their fifth single “Uh-ee” in April, where the ladies left their signature helmets behind and revealed their latest “hanbok” (Korean traditional costume) concept.
Although none of the girls’ later releases featured any helmets, the group continues to latch onto its lighthearted and clowning song style and choreography.
Thanks to the group’s mega hit single “Bar Bar Bar” last year, Crayon Pop went from a little-known K-pop name after a very lackluster debut in 2012, to the opening act for one of the world’s most iconic influential pop stars ― Lady Gaga.
It was previously reported that the “Mother Monster” herself personally selected Crayon Pop as the opening act for the U.S. and Canada leg of her worldwide concert tour “artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball” over the summer.
Crayon Pop will soon be reuniting with superstar Lady Gaga once more as both are scheduled to perform at the upcoming two-day AIA Real Life: NOW Festival 2014. Crayon Pop will be performing on Aug. 16 as a secondary act with Gaga as the headliner.
