Gwangju International Center is holding its annual May concert on Sunday, with a French theme.
Twelve different groups and artists will perform popular French songs and classical music, in recognition of the 130th anniversary of relations between Korea and France.
Music will include a collection of French children’s songs sung by the Gwangju Orphanage Choir, a medley from “Les Miserables,” operatic pieces from “Carmen” and “Faust,” and songs by composers such as Debussy and Ravel.
The concert will be capped off with some Korean folk music.
The concert starts 5 p.m. at the Bitgoeul Cultural Center near Gwangju Park in Nam-gu.
Tickets are free but should be reserved in advance at eng.gic.or.kr.
