This is the first time Korean deputy prime minister is attending an AMCHAM event since Hyun Oh-seok in 2013. Hyun served as the deputy prime minister for economy from March 2013 to July 2014.

In his speech, Yoo plans to focus on Korea’s mid- to long-term economic plans, including the government’s drive for corporate restructuring, and the need to develop the service industry and others that will fuel Korea’s growth in the future.

Other issues including the Korea-US free trade agreement, Trans-Pacific Partnership and corporate regulations will be discussed in the meeting following the speech, the ministry said.
