The K-pop singer and actor Rain is in talks about starring in an upcoming TV drama, local news outlets reported Friday.
Rain was offered roles in several dramas and films, but finally decided to return to the screen with the SBS rom-com “Song for You” to be aired in September, according to news reports.

Rain’s label, however, denied the reports, saying that nothing has been confirmed yet. He is currently going over a few more offers, the agency said.
If the singer-turned-actor makes a comeback with the drama, it will be his first in four years after he starred in the Korean drama “R2B: Return to Base.”
Set in the showbiz industry, the drama will portray a romance between a would-be singer and the CEO of an entertainment agency, played by Rain. Drama insiders say the top-class star is a perfect fit for the role as he himself is running his own label.
The female lead is yet to be announced.
His comeback comes after he was hit hard by a controversy over his misbehavior while on mandatory military duty and a series of legal battles involving his fashion business and real estate. Most recently, he came under the spotlight for alleged tax evasion.
Since his 2002 debut as a solo singer, Rain has broadened his presence as an actor by starring in several hit dramas and films. The 32-year-old star gained acclaim for his acting skills in the rom-com “Full House,” which earned him a top acting award in 2004.
He has been dating the Korean big-name actress Kim Tae-hee since last year.
