The Dutch bicycle industry plays an important role in promoting bicycle use by combining it with a tradition of spatial planning and traffic-safety policy.
In Korea, the bicycle industry has taken off as a new way of exercise as well as a pastime.
To examine the relationship Holland and Korea have in this sector, the Dutch Embassy and the Korea Transportation Institute are holding a joint seminar on bicycles, their present role and future.
The seminar will be held April 26 at 2 p.m. at the Lotte Hotel in central Seoul.
The 2nd KOTI-Netherlands Joint Seminar will also examine new types of bicycles and bike accessories that encourage specific target groups to use their two-wheelers instead of motorized vehicles.
More information can be had by calling the embassy at (02) 311-8600.
