The 9th Busan International Kid’s Film Festival opens next week for a five-day run.
The festival, based on the theme “With Fairytales, With Film,” features children’s films from across the world, mostly in English or with English subtitles, from July 23-27.
Classic films to be shown include “The Goonies” and “Harry Potter and the Sorcerers’ Stone,” along with subtitled Korean animations including “Approved for Adoption,” a more mature film about a Korean boy who was adopted to Belgium. Two films from India will also be shown.
The opening and closing ceremonies will have performances and screenings of prizewinning short films from a contest for children between the ages of 6 and 16.
Other sideline events include a poster contest exhibition and a concert of music from animations.
