In less than 24 hours on YouTube, popular K-pop girl group f(x)’s latest music video “Red Light” has surpassed 2 million hits, according to a press release from SM Entertainment on Friday.
The music video for the new single, which was released on Thursday, had amassed more than 2.25 million YouTube views as of Friday afternoon. The new single is the lead track of the ladies’ upcoming third full-length album, also titled “Red Light,” and is scheduled to be released in its entirety on July 7.
The heavy electro-pop song is the first release from f(x) in nearly a year after the ladies returned to the spotlight with their second album “Pink Tape.”
The group’s music is best known for its fusion electro pop sounds and f(x)’s hit track “Rum Pum Pum Pum,” from the “Pink Tape” album, topped all of the local music charts last year. The ladies’ second studio album also landed them on the “The 41 Best Albums of 2013” list on America’s FUSE TV.
Last year the members of f(x) also became the first K-pop group to ever perform at the annual SXSW South By Southwest music talent showcase in Austin, Texas.
