[Asian Games] South Korea wins 1 gold, 1 bronze in women's 50m rifle prone

South Korea grabbed a team gold and an individual bronze in the women's 50-meter rifle prone event at the Asian Games on Wednesday.

   The trio of Na Yoon-kyung, Eum Bit-na, and Jeong Mi-ra put together 1855.5 points to take the gold medal at Ongnyeon International Shooting Range in the country's western port city of Incheon, achieving their second consecutive Asiad victory in this event.

   China took silver with 1854.1 points, and the Malaysian team got an aggregate 1853.6 points for bronze.  

   The 23-year-old Eum also took a bronze medal of her own after shooting 620.6 points, trailing Narantuya Chuluunbadrakh of Mongolia, who earned 624.1 points for the gold, and Nur Suryani Binti Mohamed Taibi of Malaysia, who shot 620.6.

   South Korea's Jeong stood at 9th with 618.5 and Na finished 17th with 616.4 points.

   In the women's 50-meter rifle prone, a single competition with 60 shots determines both individual medalists and team winners. The scores of three shooters from each country are combined for the team victory. (Yonhap)
