Singer-turned-actress Jang Na-ra said on Monday that playing her character on MBC’s new rom-com “Fated to Love You” was not so difficult.
The actress told reporters at a press conference held in Yeouido, Seoul, that she felt comfortable acting as a pregnant woman, as she previously played two characters who gave birth to twins in two separate Chinese dramas.

“I think my character Mi-young (in the rom-com) is in fact a plus to an actress’s career, since I can show different emotional sides (in one character),” Jang said. “At one point I would be a childlike Ms. Friendly, then a pregnant (single) mother, and at another time turn into a suffering woman… It is a great opportunity for me to act out all these roles in a single character.”
Jang stars in “Fated to Love You” with actor Jang Hyuk, who costarred with her another romantic comedy series called “Successful Story of a Bright Girl” in 2002.
“Fated to Love You” portrays the love story of a highly unlikely couple -- the only heir of a conglomerate family and an ordinary girl who came out of nowhere. Jang Hyuk plays Lee Gun, a stuck-up aristocrat who has been indulged by his business tycoon family his whole life.
The heir happens to impregnate the virtual nobody Kim Mi-young, played by Jang Na-ra, plunging both of them into a labyrinth of romantic plight.
The Wednesday-Thursday rom-com airs its first episode on July 2 at 10 p.m.
