Germany has been selected as the second-most popular travel destination in Europe, following Spain, according to the German National Tourist Board.
Germany saw a 6.5 percent increase in its number of visiting tourists, higher than the average increase rate of 2.9 percent in the total number of Europeans traveling overseas. A total of 2.6 million Europeans visited the country last year.
