[Photo News] Shinhan Bank offers bonus rate for ‘Sunfull’ clean internet participants

Shinhan Bank will offer a 0.5 percent bonus rate to clients participating in the “Sunfull” clean Internet campaign, the bank said in a ceremony held at its Seoul headquarters Tuesday.

The Sunfull Internet Peace Movement involves leaving positive comments online to encourage support and consideration among online users, Shinhan Bank said in a statement.

The campaign is jointly hosted by the Sunfull Foundation, which aims to spread peace through non offensive online comments and educate teens on such issues.

“I hope that more financial institutions will participate in this campaign and their participation will contribute to reduce Korea’s social conflicts,” said Min Byoung-chul, Chairman of the Sunfull Foundation.

Since 2007, the Sunfull Movement has been sending a message of hope to the victims of natural disasters and horrific incidents around the world, while launching Internet websites where people can post messages of condolence, encouragement and support.

On Jan. 10, Min attended the Korean-American Day held at the US Congress in Washington, where he introduced the Sunfull Movement. Edward Royce, Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Judy Chu, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, signed a statement in support of the Internet peace campaign.
