Camarata seeks singers for ‘African Sanctus’

The Camarata Music Company is searching for new members for its choir, ahead of its performance of choral mass “African Sanctus,” by British composer David Fanshawe.

“(African Sanctus) informs both listener and performer about African music and its relationship to Western polyphony and captures the eternal and spiritual soul of music,” said Ryan Goessl, the founder and conductor of CMC.

The choir consists of people from various backgrounds aged 14 to 75 and includes amateur and professional musicians.

The rehearsals for “African Sanctus” begin on Jan. 26 and run from 4-7 p.m. New members should arrive an hour earlier.

The rehearsals are held at the Camarata Music Company Studio, near Noksapyeong Station.

Those who wish to get involved should send an email to info@camaratamusic.com or call 010-9806-8655.
