The Sunfull Movement, which campaigns to foster a culture of positive online comments, held a concert at the Raum Art Center in Seoul on Monday to memorialize Sichuan quake victims.

The host of the event also delivered a book of condolences gathered on the movement’s website to the People’s Daily, which is the Chinese partner of the drive to send encouraging messages to the quake victims.

The concert included Seoul Pops Orchestra conducted by Ha Sung-ho, Sunfull publicity envoy and singer Ali, tenor Ryu Jung-phil and soprano Lee Soo-yeon.

“I hope the book of Koreans’ ‘sunfull’ messages will comfort Sichuan residents,” said Sohn Kyung-shik, chairman of CJ Group, chief organizer of the concert.

On May 12, a powerful trembler of 7.0 magnitude struck Sichuan province, killing 193 and wounding more than 11,000 people.

The movement started in May 2007 by a group of students under professor Min Byoung-chul of Konkuk University in Seoul. Now, over 6,000 schools and 100 civic groups are its members.

Sunfull is a combination of the Korean word pronounced “sun” from the Chinese character for good and the Korean word “pull” which means reply.
