South Korean food manufacturer Samyang Foods announced its official sponsorship of the Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games, the quadrennial youth winter sports event which is being hosted by an Asian country for the first time this year.

With 1,802 athletes representing 78 countries, the largest-ever Winter Youth Olympics kicked off Friday evening in Gangwon Province and is set to wrap up on Feb. 1.

Standing at the forefront of the Korean wave, Samyang Foods aims to support the sports competition by offering visitors opportunities to taste Korean food and experience the nation’s distinctive culinary culture.

During the 14-day competition, Samyang Foods will provide a lineup of ramyeon and snack foods, including its bestselling flagship Buldak Spicy Chicken Ramyeon, Buldak Hot Sauce, its latest spicy soup noodle, Meptaeng, and its premium non-fried ramyeon, Cootiq.

Some 80,000 items will be available at the athlete's lounge and media center, allowing athletes, coaches, reporters, and staff to freely enjoy ramyeon and snacks at any time, the firm added.

The food manufacturer will also provide “Goodbye” kits consisting of the Buldak and Meptaeng series as a gift to young athletes returning home after the competition.

“In a bid to successfully host the Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games, we will actively pitch in to create long-lasting memories for every participant of the event,” said a Samyang Foods official.
