Seoul global centers to show Korean films

Seorae and Itaewon Global Village Centers will each screen a movie for free this month, on April 16 and 25, respectively.

Seorae GVC will show “Wandeuki (Punch),” the story of a wayward high school student who lives next door to his homeroom teacher.

The film was one of the most popular Korean movies of 2011 and was noted for starring Jasmine Lee, who has since become the first ethnic minority National Assembly member, as the boy’s mother.

The screening starts at 1:30 p.m. To reserve a spot, contact seorae@sba.seoul.kr or (02) 2155-8915~6.

Itaewon GVC will show “Minyeo-neun Goeroweo (200-pound Beauty)” from 6:30.

The hit film portrays a singer with a beautiful voice who suffers rock-bottom self-esteem because of the way she looks. She decides to transform her life with massive weight loss and drastic plastic surgery.
