American Center opens with new services in Seoul

The United States Embassy Library has enhanced its public services.

With the launch of the new services, the Information Resource Center will now be known as the American Center Korea and will issue membership cards while expanding its public hours, staying open from 1-6 p.m. on weekdays.

The center at 10 Namyong-dong in the Yongsan district will circulate books, DVDs and magazine back-issues to its members.

Other services offered include Internet access, televisions to watch DVDs, photocopying, vending machines, U.S. snacks and drinks plus access to online database searches.

Special collections kept at the American Center include “Study in the USA,” “Traveling in USA,” “English Teaching and Learning” and “U.S. legislation information.”

The center will continue to provide free access to books, periodicals, DVDs, government documents and electronic information relating to the U.S. and U.S.-Korea relations.

Also, it will continue its primary function of providing a wide array of up-to-date information while responding to reference inquiries about the United States.
