Man sues ex-fiancee for wedding deposits

A New York man has sued his ex-fiancee -- who twice broke off their engagement -- for nearly $50,000 in rent and wedding deposits he said she owes him.

Steven Silverstein filed the suit Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court. He said even though Kendra Platt-Lee returned a $32,000 engagement ring, she still owes him, including half of the $54,367.87 she withdrew from their joint bank account, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.

Silverstein alleges in the suit he paid half of the rent on the couple's $3,945-a-month East Side apartment, as well as all of the $27,000 in non-refundable deposits for their planned Sept. 22 wedding, the New York Post reported.

"We settled this," Platt-Lee said. "I don't owe him any money."

The couple began dating in March 2008, but Platt-Lee called the engagement off in 2010. The romance was rekindled by June 2011, though Platt-Lee called things off again in April. (UPI)

실버스테인은 그가 한 달에 3,945 달러인 집세의 반을 다달이 냈으며, 올해 9월 22일로 예정되어 있던 결혼식의 예약금을 지불했고 현재 환불이 불가능 상태라고 말했다.

한편, 캔트라는 자신이 약혼자에게 한푼도 빚지지 않았다며 모두 합의된 내용이라고 말했다.

이 커플은 2008년 3월 만남을 시작해 2010년 여자친구가 결별을 통보했다가 2011년 6월 다시 재회했지만 캔트라가 올해 4월 다시 약혼을 파기했다.
