Two play baseball simulation for 54 hours

Two fans of the tabletop Strat-O-Matic Baseball game set a world record for the game by playing for 54 hours non-stop at a New York restaurant.

Brett Carow and Sam Hennemann, who are from Minnesota, said they traveled to New York after Foley's Pub & Restaurant agreed to host their marathon gaming session, MLB.com reported Monday.

Carow and Hennemann, who were allowed 5-minute breaks every hour, said they played more than 100 rounds of the game starting Thursday and became world record-holders Saturday.

"The low point for me was between 4 and 5 [a.m.]. We took an hour nap ... and that was the first time we slept. That was 40 hours in," Carow said. (UPI)

54시간 논스톱 야구게임에 신기록 경신

야구 보드 게임 스트렛 오 메틱(Strat-O-Matic)의 광팬인 두 남성이 뉴욕의 한 레스토랑에서 54시간동안 게임을 해 세계 신기록을 세웠다.

미국 미네소타주에 사는 브렛 캐로우와 샘 헤노만은 폴리즈 펍 앤 레스토랑(Foley's Pub & Restaurant)에서 열린 마라톤 게임에 참가하기 위해 뉴욕행에 나섰다.

캐로우와 헤네만은 총 100판 이상의 게임을 하며 한 시간당 5분씩 쉬는 시간을 가졌다.

지난 목요일 시작된 이 게임 배틀은 토요일이 돼서야 마쳐졌으며, 두 사람을 세계 신기록 보유자로 등극시켰다.

“가장 힘들었던 시간은 새벽 4시와 5시 사이였다. 게임을 시작한지 40시간째에 접어들 무렵 우리는 한 시간 동안 선잠을 잤고 그게 처음 눈을 붙인 시간이었다”고 캐로우는 말했다.
