Park Hyatt Busan opens in Marine City

Busan’s new affluent and luxury district of Marine City welcomed newcomer Park Hyatt Busan this week. Located adjacent to Haeundae Beach, the 33-story hotel features 269 guestrooms, including 69 suites, and restaurants, meeting facilities, spa and fitness centers.

Designed by the world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, the hotel adds to the dynamic landscape of Busan with its curved shape representing ocean waves.

The interior design by the Japanese design firm Super Potato creates a modern yet comforting ambience with natural materials such as timber, stone and trees inside the hotel.

“Many people have anxiously awaited the newest hotel in the Park Hyatt collection, which we believe will make a big splash in the heart of Busan,” said Marc von Arnim, general manager of Park Hyatt Busan. “In successfully incorporating the unparalleled ocean views into the interior, Park Hyatt Busan is bound to set a whole new standard for luxury, armed with distinctive world-class facilities and services.”

The hotel aims to offer “residential comfort” while ensuring private services for each guest.

The hotel provides spaces for smaller events at salons on the first floor and larger events at the ballroom on the second floor. One of the salons is designed to create a comfortable ambience with book shelves, sofas and TVs that are seen in living rooms. The ballroom is capable of accommodating up to 250 people.

Except for the public facilities, one can’t access guestroom floors without a room key.

Every guestroom, restaurant and facility offers breathtaking views of the yachting club and Gwangan Bridge through floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

Restaurants, located on the 32nd-floor Dining Room, feature an open kitchen and a sushi bar serving grilled steak, fresh seafood, sushi and sashimi. More casual dining is available at Living Room, which offers Korean and Western cuisine.

The lounge on the lobby floor offers a great selection of desserts including creative pastries and chocolates.

The hotel’s spa facility Lumi Spa also has great ocean views and is filled with natural sunlight and decorated with natural materials. The hotel-run spa has seven treatment rooms and uses Kerstin Florian products.

The hotel offers an accommodation package through April 28 in celebration of the opening. The package offers discounts on one-night stay reservation and free breakfast for two.
