A T-shirt company which set out to fight homophobia on Wednesday heralded a man who threatened to disown his daughter for disowning her openly gay son.
“We were blown away by how this guy stands by his grandson and stands up against his own homophobic daughter. This is real love!” FCKH8.com, a company which raises money for gay rights by selling t-shirts with anti-homophobic messages, said on its Facebook page after receiving a letter detailing the story.
Luke Montgomery, the spokesperson of FCKH8.com, said the company confirmed the letter as legitimate after contacting the man and his grandson.
In the letter, the unnamed man reprimands his daughter for kicking “Chad” out of her house “simply because he told you he was gay.” Chad a supporter of FCKH8.com sent the letter.
The man tells his daughter that disowning her son was an “abomination,” adding that while Chad did not choose to be homosexual, she chose to be “hurtful, narrow-minded and backward.”
He wrapped up his letter by saying that he now has a fabulous grandson, but has no time for a “heart-less B-word of a daughter,” and urged his daughter to call him when she finds her heart.
