'겨울왕국' 애니메이션 신기록 깰 듯

디즈니 애니메이션 '겨울왕국'이 애니메이션 영화의 새기록을 깰 것으로 보인다.

1일 영화진흥위원회에 따르면 '겨울왕국'은 설 명절이었던 지난 31일 하루 동안 45만897명의 관객을 불러 모아 곧 500만 관객 진입을 눈앞에 두고있다.

이러한 여세를 감안 한다면 우리나라 흥행 역대 애니메이션 흥행 1위에 등극할 것으로 보인다.

애니메이션 역대 흥행 1위는 2011년 506만명을 모은 '쿵푸팬더2'. 지금과 같은 추세라면 '겨울왕국'은 1일 중 500만에 이어 '쿵푸팬더2'의 기록을 넘어서며 역대 애니메이션 흥행 1위에 오를 것으로 보인다.

지금까지는 전 세계적으로 8천억원의 수입을 올리고 있으며 불후의 명작 애니메이션 "라이온 킹" 의 기록을 넘은것으로 알려졌다. 곧 수입 1조원의 기록을 깰 것으로 보고있다.

Reviews and parodies add to ‘Frozen’ sensation

The news media and the public are paying attention to the slightest details within the record-breaking film “Frozen,” spawning an array of reviews and parodying videos.

The Disney film recently exceeded the $800 million global box office record, surpassing its previous hit “Lion King.” With its continuing popularity it is expected to pass the $1 billion mark, which is an extraordinary case for an animated movie to become even popular among grown-ups.

The dual story of sisterly love and self-discovery in “Frozen” has gained wide popularity worldwide. A medley of the title track “Let it Go” translated into 25 languages gathering 200,000 viewers worldwide. People are posting their own version of the songs, adding humor by tweaking highlights to their own taste.

Apart from the sensation on YouTube, foreign media outlets have also reported different interpretations of the movies, reviewing details to find symbolic meanings.

The Guardian quoted a Southern Baptist University professor in Texas, saying he found Christian symbolism with “a better allegory for the Christian gospel than C.S. Lewis’ ‘The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.’” The Huffington Post published an article criticizing the princesses’ “cartoonish” features with unrealistically large eyes or slender waists.

Some praised it as taking away the illusion of true love being realized only by a kiss, and shows the pure and sacrificial nature of true love itself. The Worldcrunch also reviewed it favorably for going against the stereotypical image of princesses, citing some modern-minded mothers who find it unsettling to raise girls dreaming of Prince Charming.

The massive popularity of the movie has also fueled a staged production of the movie, already reported to be in the early stages of development.
