Organica, a Korean premium organic whole food company, unveiled a three-day detox program with juice made with superfoods on Tuesday as part of its efforts to lead the nationwide juice cleanse trend.
The three-day juice cleanse program, called the “Just Juice 3-day Super Cleanse,” enriched nutrients and flavors by high-pressure processing methods and adding superfoods such as spirulina, turmeric, chlorella and chia seeds to its product lineup.
The so-called superfoods are a loosely defined collection of produce thought to have extraordinary nutritional benefits such as antioxidants or omega-3 acids, and have recently seen high local demand.
The short-term juice detox plan requires eating no food and drinking only the juice for three days. It gives the digestive system a break from processing heavy proteins and fat and revitalizes the body’s metabolism, leading to the full release of built-up toxins.
The popularity of the juice cleanse is only to grow with the rising number of health-conscious Koreans seeking to replace one of their daily meals with the detox juice, the company said. Even some celebrities including K-pop diva Ivy and emcee Park Ji-yoon joined the move to stay in shape.
