Saudi Arabian cheering squad rooted for Saudi Arabian players at the soccer competition between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan in the Final 16 at the Incheon Asian Games held in the Goyang Sports Complex on Sept. 26.

Saudi Arabia defeated Uzbekistan 3-2 to advance into Final 8.

On that day, the cheering squad including Saudi Arabians residing in Korea, ordinary citizens and S-OIL employees waved the Saudi Arabia’s national flag and shouted players’ names, cheering ardently for the team.

The employees of S-OIL are rooting for Saudi Arabian players by visiting stadiums for major games, including soccer and athletics events during the Incheon Asian Games.

“We will root passionately for Saudi Arabian teams so that the Incheon Asian Games will serve as an opportunity to further cement the friendship between Saudi Arabia and Korea in various fields such as sports and culture” said an S-OIL employee who visited the stadium along with co-workers.

S-OIL has played the role of bridge-builder in the private economic cooperation field for over 20 years since 1991, when the world’s largest oil company, Saudi Aramco (the state-owned oil company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) became the largest shareholder. (AGNS)
