Philippine police on Thursday arrested the robber who is accused of shooting to death a South Korean woman in Manila earlier this week, the foreign ministry here said.
The 45-year-old South Korean was shot in a coffee shop in the Manila metropolitan area on Monday and died at the scene. It was the latest in a series of deaths of South Korean citizens in the Southeast Asian country.
"The culprit was arrested earlier in the day by the Philippine police," a foreign ministry official said.
The police are investigating the case to gather more information, including the robber's identity, the official noted.
The recent murder of the woman further sparked safety concerns among South Korean citizens in the country, where four South Koreans have been murdered this year. (Yonhap)
