Indian chamber names new secretary general

The Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea has named Yoon Sock-joong, a former presidential secretary and public affairs minister at the Korean Embassy in the U.S., as its new secretary general.

Yoon, 57, will take over the chamber’s secretary general post formerly held by Chang Kook-hyun, the founding secretary general of the ICCK, starting from Feb. 1. Chang will continue to serve ICCK as senior advisor.

Yoon served as the embassy minister in the U.S. from 2005-2008 after working as a presidential secretary for foreign press from 2002 to 2005 under the then President Kim Dae-jung.

“I look forward to the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea continuing to contribute for the next phase of business development between India and Korea” said Yoon.

“Yoon brings to ICCK vast experience in diplomacy and public relations. We look forward to his leadership in making ICCK a key partner to Korean and Indian businesses with interest in each other‘s countries,” said ICCK chairman and Mahindra Korea president Dilip Sundaram.
