Eco-friendly design forum to open in Naju

Architectural design experts will gather in Naju, South Jeolla Province, to attend the eco-friendly design symposium, which kicks off on Friday under the theme “Healthy, Smart, Zero Energy Housing.”

The conference is co-organized by the Korea Green Building Council and the Gwangju regional arm of the Architectural Institute of Korea.

“The symposium will be a venue where experts talk about the direction of future eco-friendly architecture and smart cities,” said a KGBC spokesperson

Around 500 specialists including academics and those from institutions and the government have been invited to share the latest knowledge and information on green architectural design, the organizer said.

During the seminar, Lee Seung-bok, a professor from Yonsei University’s architectural engineering department, will deliver the opening speech on the new trend in future architecture. Shuichi Hokoi, a professor from the university’s architectural engineering college, will also speak about the future and past of Japan’s eco-friendly housing.
