Vietnam Airlines, the largest carrier in Vietnam, was ranked as a four-star airline by British airline rating organization Skytrax, the airline said Thursday.
Vietnam Airlines held an event on Tuesday at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul to commemorate the event. Airline officials met with Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Pham Huu Chi and the press to discuss Vietnam Airlines’ efforts to improve consumer service and airline safety.

Cao Anh Son, who heads the airline’s Korean branch, said that Vietnam Airlines considers the four-star recognition a “new starting line,” adding that it will continue to improve to become a top airline.
Vietnam Airlines is launching a promotion offering discounts on business-class tickets to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh and Danang from Incheon and Busan, from Saturday until December.
A member of the SkyTeam Airline Alliance since 2010, Vietnam Airline currently operates routes within Vietnam and 26 international routes. It operates 52 flights per week between Korea and Vietnam.
