James Kim, president of GM Korea, was re-elected chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) to lead the organization for the fourth consecutive year, AMCHAM said Monday.
Kim, who had served as country manager of Microsoft Korea, became GM Korea's chief last year. He is the first Korean-American to serve as the AMCHAM chairman.

"Despite many uncertainties we are facing today with the transition of President-elect Donald Trump in the US and the spread of protectionism around the world, AMCHAM will continue to act as an active cheerleader to promote a 'win-win' partnership between Korea and the US," Kim said in a release.
"I am confident that AMCHAM is in an excellent position to help our member companies navigate in this very complex and transformative era."
AMCHAM was founded in 1953 to expand investment and trade between South Korea and the United States. It is the largest foreign chamber in Korea with about 800 member companies. (Yonhap)
