Hyundai Motor, South Korea’s leading automaker, said Wednesday it sealed a deal with Hyundai Oto Komersial Indonesia to supply 500 units of the Xcient heavy truck.
The volume of the latest deal is Hyundai’s biggest for trucks, the company said.
Hyundai Motor said it would aim to expand its presence in Indonesia’s commercial vehicle market, which is currently monopolized by Japanese commercial vehicle brands.

As part of the efforts, the automaker plans to release a variety of models, including the Mighty truck.
The supplied Xcient trucks will be used for the construction of a landfill in Jakarta.
During the Jakarta motor show last month, Xcient was named the second most favorite commercial car by local customers due to its high quality, the company said.
