Cheongju City official found dead in apparent suicide

A civil servant in his 40s, who was working at the Cheongju City Hall, was found hanging in his apartment early Tuesday.

The police is looking at overwork as the possible reason for the suicide, based on testimony from his bereaved family. According to his family members, the man had been suffering from chronic stress caused by work.

His wife told the police she discovered the body when she went out to the balcony to look for him.
