Gwangju Seobu Police Station said Thursday that it has booked a gang member surnamed Kim without detention on the charge of assault.

Kim is accused of using physical violence against a man surnamed Park in his 20s for trying to break up a fight between him and his girlfriend in front of a convenience store in Seo-gu, Gwangju, around 5:45 a.m. on Sunday.
Police said Park was punched twice in the face by Kim when he attempted to stop the conflict.
