A senior editorial member of broadcaster SBS resigned Monday over suspicion he secretly took a photo of the lower part of a woman’s body in a subway station, according to the TV station.
The broadcaster accepted the resignation of Kim Sung-joon, 55, who had been one of its top news anchormen.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station booked Kim without detention on suspicion that he took the photo without the woman’s knowledge at Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station at around 11:55 p.m. Wednesday.

Police caught Kim at the scene after a witness reported the incident.
Kim denied the allegations, but a secretly taken photo was discovered on his mobile phone, according to police.
After joining SBS in 1991, Kim served as the main anchorman of news program “SBS 8 News” from 2011 to 2014 and late 2016 to May 2017.
The police caught the man, a former news anchor at a major TV broadcaster, at the scene after a member of the public reported the incident to the police.
The suspect denied the allegations, but a secretly taken photo was discovered on his phone, according to local media reports.
