Music videos by South Korean K-pop groups were among the top 10 most liked videos on YouTube globally this year, including those from BTS and Blackpink.
According to YouTube, BTS’ hit song “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey was the second-most liked video in 2019. It was followed by four-piece girl group Blackpink’s “Kill This Love” music video, which was also the eighth-most played globally, the only Korean act to be included on that list.

This year’s most liked music video on YouTube was Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes’ “Senorita,” featuring Camila Cabello, with 13.9 million likes. The video was also the sixth-most played globally.
BTS member J-Hope’s solo single “Chicken Noodle Soup” featuring Becky G was the ninth-most liked music video.
For the most played choreography videos, South Korean choreographer Lia Kim’s 1 Million Dance Studio’s covers of four K-pop songs, including “Gogobebe” by Mamamoo, were listed in the top 10.
American choreographer Phil Wright’s cover of megahit “Pink Fong,” created by Korean education content company Smart Study, was the eighth-most played choreography video.
In terms of newly registered channels that showed rapid growth globally, three Korean channels were among the top 10. They were freelance entertainer Jang Sung-kyu’s channel Workman featuring job experiences; restaurant tycoon Baik Jong-won’s Paik’s Cuisine; and one meal a day, a channel on easy-to-cook recipes.
