Girl group NewJeans won the most trophies at the Circle Chart Music Awards 2023, a popular music award ceremony hosted by Circle Chart, while Babymonster, Zerobaseone and Riize all won the Rookie of the Year award.

Circle Chart, a leading tracker of local album sales, held the annual music awards ceremony at Bexco in Busan on Wednesday. The winners for 2023 were determined by the commercial performances of albums and songs based on the tracker's chart from Dec. 1, 2022, to Nov. 30, 2023.

Artist of the Year awards are given in four categories -- album, digital, unique listeners, and global streaming -- while Rookie of the Year awards are given in three different categories.

NewJeans won four trophies, including three trophies from Artist of the Year awards and a trophy for Music Steady Seller of the Year. The group led the girl group craze last year by gaining sensational popularity with their hit songs "Ditto" and "Super Shy."

Three Rookie of the Year awards went to Babymonster, Zerobaseone and Riize.

YG's new girl group, Babymonster, won the Rookie of the Year award for global streaming. The award is given to artists who debuted between December 2022 and November 2023, and recorded the highest global streaming during the 30 days following the release of their first song.

On the world’s largest music platform Spotify, Babymonster's "Batter Up" surpassed 10 million streams in 10 days, which is the fastest for a K-pop girl groups’ debut song so far. The number of streams exceeded 40 million as of Monday.

The nine-member boy group Zerobaseone won the Rookie of the Year award in the album category. This meant the group has earned a total of eight rookie awards at major domestic pop music award ceremonies, including the Golden Disk Awards and the Seoul Music Awards.

SM's new boy band Riize won a trophy in the unique listeners category of the Rookie of the Year award with their debut song, "Get A Guitar."

NCT Dream, Seventeen, Jungkook of BTS, Ive and (G)I-dle won three awards each.
