Teens force juniors into street vending, extort W10m

Two teenagers forced 12 younger children to sell sweet potatoes on the street and extorted the profits worth 9.4 million won ($8,300), police said Thursday. Police in the southern city of Gimhae requested an arrest warrant for one of the suspects, an 18-year-old high-school student surnamed Lee, and booked an accomplice named Kim without detention. Lee and Kim allegedly coerced their school juniors to work as street vendors from November to January. The victims had to sell roasted sweet potatoes
