Geoje expats to set up baseball team

Expats are looking for members to help create an expat baseball team on Geojedo.

The Geoje Invaders aim to play exhibition games with teams in the Geoje League this season, before entering the league proper next year.

The team has basic equipment and a tentative deal on sponsorship, but is also looking for funds for full pitcher’s gear and additional basics.

Team organizer Eric Smith says that anyone can join ― the most important thing in prospective players is commitment and participation.

“Talent isn’t my biggest concern,” he said. “I am mostly looking for people willing to dedicate enough time to this project to make it a success. Talent will come in time.”

“It’s a great opportunity for Koreans and foreigners to a build relationship through this game I love. I have had a lot of fun playing in the Geoje League the past seven years and hope that the creation of this team will provide many more to come.”
