Yu appointed SAC executive director

 

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism appointed on Monday Yu In-chon, special presidential aid for cultural affairs, as the executive director of the Seoul Arts Center. Yu will lead the SAC for three years.

Yu, 61, served as culture minister from 2008 to 2011. He also headed the Seoul Foundation of Arts in 2004 and served as the vice chairman of the 17th Presidential Inaugural Committee in 2008.

Yu was a top actor who appeared in many TV dramas and movies over about 35 years. He founded You Theater in 2001 and directed several plays. He graduated Chung-Ang University’s department of theater, obtained an M.A. degree there and also served as professor.
