The set built on a former mine site was used for the military barracks where the two main characters, played by Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo, built up their romantic relationship. It was torn down after shooting ended last December.
Before the restoration is completed, the city will also set up a board to explain the restoration plan and photo zones to TV drama fans visiting the site.
Meanwhile, the last episode of the show aired last Thursday. Special episodes featuring highlights and the making of the 16-episode drama are scheduled to broadcast April 20-22.
