A range of organized events await travelers at the America’s Cup Pavilion in San Francisco, including the America’s Cup Yacht Competition and various concerts and performances (www.americascup.com). If you are a thrill-seeker, there are fenceless horseback rides at the Mono Lake where you can embrace your inner cowboy or cowgirl (www.monolake.org).
If stargazing lights your fire, there is “Desert Adventures,” which takes you on a jeep tour through the San Andreas Fault at night. The stargazing program starts in June and ends in August (www.red-jeep.com/details/7894/san-andreas-fault-nightwatch-stargazing-jeep-tour).
