중국 저장성의 한 음식점이 살아있는 철갑상어를 손님상에 내놨다.

요리로 나온 철갑상어는 산 채로 꼬챙이에 매달려 있다. 상어는 힘겹게 호흡하며 몸을 좌우로 움직여 손님들을 당황케 했다.
중국에서 철갑상어는 ‘황제어’로 널리 알려져 있을 정도로 귀한 음식이다. 그렇지만, 국보급 천연기념물이기 때문에 양식어종만 식용으로 쓰인다.
