유튜브영상 게시자에 따르면 이들이 마주한 적은 아프리카비단뱀이다. 수면 아래에 잠복하고 있었다.
불시에 솟구쳐오른 뱀은 몸뚱이를 휘돌리며 상대를 공격한다.
곤혹스러워하는 코끼리의 모습이 담겨있다. 뱀은 어린 녀석도 아닌 성체를 노렸다.
한편 이 맹공을 퍼부은 주인공은 뱀이 아니라 나일악어라는 견해도 있다.
