The five superstar members of popular K-pop boy band Big Bang have wrapped up their final performances of the group’s six-city, 16-concert “Big Bang Japan Dome Tour 2013-2014.” The group broke a record by accumulating around 74.8 billon won ($70.6 million) in ticket sales, the most ever by a foreign artist in Japan.
The Dome Tour kicked off with two performances at the Seibu Dome in Saitama on Nov. 16 and 17 and then moved on to Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Tokyo and Sapporo before returning to Osaka for three final performances from Jan. 11-13. Although the final leg of the Osaka tour was originally slated to have only two concert performances, after selling out both shows, a third concert was added on Monday. Altogether, the tour attracted around 770,000 fans ― 50,000 more than organizers’ original estimate.
Big Bang will make its return to local fans with three concerts scheduled for Jan. 24 to 26 at Seoul Olympic Park’s Gymnastics Stadium.
