영국의 지하철 안에서 하루에 세 명 이상의 승객들이 성폭행을 당한다고 연구 결과가 외신에 보도됐다.

이 통계에 따르면 2010년도 한해에 일어난 성폭행 숫자가 544건이 기록됐으나, 2015년에는 1,179건으로 5년 사이에 두 배가량 늘었다고 전해졌다.
이에 따라 여성들과 지하철 통근자들이 폭행당할 위험이 점점 더 커지고 있다고 알려졌다.
